Re-hydrotest of pipeline

Postby julius » 27 May 2014, 12:19

Dear all
We are about to rehydrotest a 6" sch 80 pipeline that has been hydrotested 3years ago but was not in use or cathodically protected,is it practicable to hydrotest the flow line with the exact test pressure?if not is it a code requirement and where can I get this requirement in the code.
Counting on your quick response.
Thanks
Julius

julius,
Please provide more information such as jurisdiction (country, state, province), process (steam, water, gas, oil)...?

Ultimately the testing requirements (RT, hydrostatic, pneumatic, leak, in-process testing) lies with the Owner.
